Default Passenger Side Window

Greetings!:

I have an '84 vette that the passenger side window has slid down about 1/2 way. The motor still works and raises and lowers the window the rest of the way but no more than 1/2. When the widown is full up, all the motor does is hum. I am not aware of any work done on the window prior to my owning the car, which I have had for 3 years. It has 72,000 miles on it. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance for your comments, they are aways super! Happy Holidays!!

The window ribbon is available at the chain parts stores and is usually in the "Help!" section. You may not find something labelled for your '84 specifically but something that will work.

GM changed the design of the regulator to a scissor type a few years later and they are considerably faster and less trouble than the ribbon style. You might consider upgrading since your opening up the door anyway.

Good luck!
