I would look at the door switches take one screw out the turn the switch and put the screw back so you don't loose back plate and have to take the door pad off

Which fuse by # in the owners manual is blowing? The floor lights aren't both on the same fuse (I believe) and the other components on that circuit are likely responsible. I doubt a jamb switch but maybe. Jamb switch generally either works or not and isn't responsible for the fuse failure. Does the fuse fail immediately OR on the next opening/subsequent openings of the "drivers" door? If it fails immediately with the drivers door closed and courtesy OFF on lighting switch maybe a hint to RIGHT switch.

**I do believe after looking that both foot-well are on the same fuse, courtesy relay maybe. Jamb switch?

If you don't have an OM. You do NOT need to establish an account to get the OM:

Post #2 here explains pretty well the "to do" for switch removal on the ajar/jamb switch. The 90° pic procedure should work well. You just need to understand the ring can fall if not careful.

Interesting YOUTUBE here maybe:

When you open which door? The right door again OR when you go around and open the driver?

If the clicking is from the dash area near center then maybe the courtesy relay. Put a fuse in it again and see if you can open and close the right door multiple times and rotate the light switch to try to control lighting from the dash. Leave the drivers door SHUT all the while. Reach across the console or have someone in the drivers seat maybe.

If you can accomplish all of that without fuse failure it might be safe to assume the problem is at the left ajar if when you finally go to the drivers and open it with another failure. Fuses are cheap but if you've had consistent failures and continue to there is ATO/ATC that will reset. Some consider them a relay.
