on saturday i noticed that i neede to be closer to the car for it to unlock the doors, i thought the battery in the remote was dying so i changed it. but the same thin i need to be right next to the driver door for it to open it. is this leading to a bigger problem or can something be reset?
The Keyless remote system sounds like it needs to be looked at. It might just need to have the sensitivity increased. You have antennas running the whole length of the car and maybe one of those might be going bad as well.
Does you display show any of the following diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)?
Receiver memory bad (12)
Transmitter not in range (13)
Transmitter received (14)
Valid transmitter present (15)
Passenger door button depressed (16)
Hatch button depressed (17)
DTCs 12, 13, and 14 display the current state of the system. DTCs 15, 16, and 17 are actually functional codes which require the transmitter to be in range as confirmation that the receiver has functioned correctly
Mine did the same thing. Also, opening the hatch and the right door was difficult. Make sure you bought a fresh battery and make sure that it is snug under the remote clip. I ended up buying a new remote fob which works great. The factory wants $139.00, but I got one on Ebay for $75.00
I think that more are available. Good luck.
