This may sound strange and not related, but how strong is your battery? An old battery even though still feels like it is strong cannot compare to a new one. I had a problem like you mention after running it awhile and I replaced the battery. It starts quickly every time on the first crank now.

my 95 is doing the same thing,,, been starting fine,, everything is good with injectors, etc..... even put 4 gallons of gas in it as my gas gauge wasnt registering anything,,,, charged up my battery and has good voltage etc..... so IM in the same boat,,,, not looking forward to trying to get it on a tow truck,,,

So it starts? If so, run it for a bit and when you shut off, try restart. At which point, see if the flame is blue in the plugs. I hope it isn't your ECM since mine did that when it was warm.

does it start and run then not start when hot? if so it could be a coil evan new can be bad.
test your icm and don't forget the thermal grease. you can put a cold pack on the ecm to test it.

Well lot of parts replaced but you really need some hard data. Did you have a fuel pressure gauge on it when the problem occurs? Was the pressure good.
Need to check and compare spark when cold and hot.
Does that distributor have an optical pickup? Check the wiring and anything loose in that area.
