when cruising on the interstate at a constant rate of speed(70-80). It has a larger tendency to come on while it is raining/damp out. But this isn't an everyday occurance. Any ideas what would make the light come on? Thanks!
Have you checked for codes? Mine does it also. Code 32 (EGR for a 91) is thrown every now and then since I installed the high flow cat and eliminated the pre cats. The EGR switch dosen't seem to like the lower backpressure.
If you can get the code we can tell you what it means.
Basically take a paper clip and short pins A&B of your ALDL connector and turn on the key, watch your SES light.
It will flash any stored codes. It will flash 12 three times to let you know it's working, then it will flash each code 3 times, then it will flash 12 three times again when finished.
If you can do that for us we can tell you exactly what it means. BTW, excellent color choice. :yesnod:

What are pins "A&B"? (I know where the ALDL deal is, but what "ports" are they?)

The actual SES light will flash? Or somewhere around the Speedometer will flash? And it will literally flash the number "12" three times? And could you elaborate on how to read the code as it's being displayed!? Thanks a ton Nathan Plemons!
The SES light actually flashes. It's kinda like morse code. You'll see how it displays 12, and figure it out pretty quick.
It will flash, short delay, flash twice. Longer delay and then do the same. It will do that 3 times, then it will flash any codes, then it will flash 12 again.
