Replacing my LT4 springs and trying to find a spring compressor that fits the stock LT4 Rocker studs, all sources tell me that they are 3/8 but when I measure the diameter it looks more like 5/16. Can anyone help out.
They are actually a 10mm. All of the screw on tools that I have seen only work with 3/8 or 7/16 studs. You may have to use one of the crappy spring compressors that do not screw on. It will take a lot longer though.
If you did it probably would have been to an LT1 owner looking to upgrade to roller rockers. Otherwise I am not sure what post you would be refering to.
Finally found the thread, my mistake it was recommended by lcvette for MarkLT1

As was mentioned before, the factory LT4 rocker arm studs are 10mm. If you're switching rocker arms (stock LT4 arms are non-adjustable), then you'll need to switch studs too. After you switch the studs to 3/8" or 7/16", you can then use a screw-on type compressor to remove the springs.
You could take one 3/8 stud and keep replacing the stud on the spring your changing. After you change the spring, put the 10mm stud back in. All the screw in studs have 7/16 thread on the lower portion that goes into the head.
I went ahead and ordered some 3/8 studs so I could do the stud swap method if I need to, but the salesman at Jegs couldn't answer what RichS just did about the thread size on the heads. Also picked up a pry bar style spring compressor locally which works ok, just removed #1 springs.
