Default Hypertech chip issue?

I have a 92 lt1 and it will surge idle and sometimes shut off when at stop lights or in traffic. i have a long list of repairs made to it but i just discovered i have a hypertech chip in there that i never knew about. how much could this chip be affecting my idle? i also have an msd opti with adjustable timing. unfortunately im not to familiar with comnputers so im not sure if those two have an conflicts. would i have to get the chip retuned? i changed injectors and plugs, wire, coil, icm, egr, opti, fuel filter. im lost any help is appreciated

Pull. That hyper out along with the adapter. Sell it. Just install the factory prom. It's keyed. Can only go in one way. Unless the Factory Prom is fried?? NO need for that Hyper.

Hang onto the adapter. In the event. You add parts. A tuner can install a EEprom and burn. Leaving your Factory PROM original!

That makes NO sense. a typical 94 - 95 NON vette complete pcm. averages $50 - $100 in yards. And the lower model cars will work exactly the same. When re- flashed. And you only need the OE prom. I would burn a copy then. For a fraction of the cost.

I don't know what reflashed means of how to burn a copy

what is the deal with your factory Prom as pictured? What is preventing you from using it without that adapter and hyper EEProm?

Since you owned the car has it always surged and stalled? If not the chip is not the problem. I would suspect something else like an O2 sensor first.
