Oil Pump question
If you look just above the oil filter, on the side of the thing it mounts to there is a screw with a square bit needed to turn it. What is that? And is it important?

Sounds like that is a pipe plug used to block off a hole in the oil filter housing boss. I'm not looking at the engine now though. I used to have a '93 Ruby.
And yes, the pipe plug prevents a MAJOR oil leak. If left alone, it should be fine.
