what should I set my rev limiter at?
how much timing should I allow?

We recommend setting total timing to 34* at 3500 rpm. Initial at idle timing should fall between 13-16* around 900 rpm.

We always recommend setting the rev limiter at the rpm of peak horsepower, which is 6000 rpm on this 427.

What rwhp did your 383 make?
My 383 pulled 408/435 at the tire. Through a 700r4.

Not sure what your getting at?

My C6 pulled 350/350.
My C4 pulled 441/484.
My CTSV pulled 484/468.

All through manual transmissions.

You asked what his 383 made. I stated what a 383 could make.

The addition of it being an auto vs a manual will have more drivetrain loss.

So what are you getting at?

You made 33 more rwhp and 49 more rwtq on an engine 38 cubes bigger through a manual which is good for 1-2% less power loss.

Sounds good! Numbers don't always tell the story but power under the curve does. A table top torque curve does wonders. Your 383 wouldn't have held a candle to the 421. Now it makes 475rwhp with a set of AFR 220's.

Sorry man can't compare the two motors! It made power from idle to 6500 rpm. I've have driven my share of 383's and they don't compare bro'

My 427 produces 636 HP & 546 torque and I am using the TPIS Miniram with the 1250 cfm monoblade throttle body and 48 pound injectors.

Like I said you asked about 383 numbers. I gave my mild build 383 numbers. Hell I only spun that combo to 5200rpm due to a sketchy tune.
Just think if I really wound it out.

My 400 will out perform most builds here. Cubes arent everything now a days.

A 427 is capable of some great power but at a compromise in the NA form.
