So I'm trying to get my MS3 ECU started up with my new engine. I had the engine running on my holley commander for about 25 or 30 miles and then started the MS3 install. The engine was spitting blue smoke out the tail pipes for the first couple of miles but I knew that was just rings seating.
However I had a huge flood problem in the engine when my fuel table was super far off on startup. Didn't hydrolock but when I finally figured it was the problem I had turned over the engine quite a few times trying to start it. I got it started and it began buringing oil again. Like a good ammount but only one side of the engine. Then I let the engine sit overnight because I was frustrated. Came back today and fixed the flood problem and started it back up. I didn't see any blue smoke today and let it warm all the way up.
Is fuel was sometimes cause a temporary ring leak especially if the rings aren't seated completely? I thought about draining the oil and starting over but figure any gas in the oil would just evaporate off pretty quickly wouldn't it? I have royal purple break in oil in it now and that stuff is pretty pricey...
Any real knowledge or experience with this? I'm thinking I need to drive the thing a lot to really seat those rings properly...
