Default running l98 without exhaust

guys, I'm about to try and start my 85 after redoing the top and I'm wondering if it will run OK without the exhaust attached?

The O2 sensor will not be hooked up. So I assume I will get a check engine light. And I also assume it will not go into closed loop as that relies on feedback from The 02.

but it should run and stay running right?

Should when I bought my 85 TPI TA it ran n drove but the guy said it never ran that great. He bought it off a guy who's son passed and it was a project car that wasn't finished. I dropped the craptastic partial exhaust and drove it up to the muffler shop with open mid-length headers. After I started to mess with it some I saw it didn't have a single sensor hooked up and was missing several connectors not even the trans. Was my 1st EFI car long ago and I learned a lot on it. LOL that car had so many loose or missing bolts too!

edit: FYI o2 was in the header but not hooked up and that was one of the connectors I had to get from a salvage yard.

Yes no problem but it will be very very loud. I did the same thing when I replaced the exhaust, had to drive it a few miles to a welding shop.

Yes it will run okay for a few minutes or until the coolant temp reaches 104*F. If you actually unplug the O2 sensor then it should actually run as long as you want with no issues, it'll just stay in open loop mode.
