You'll have to make that decision, but find out what combos work well. Meaning 195's, what compression you want to run, future goals etc.

I'd talk to an engine builder and see what parts work best on a 350 that will be drag raced.

I'm just saying on ebay there are deals on heads all the time.

If you care more about running than names, just get the specs that work. heads and cam with your intake are useless.

It's all or none on these cars. And with any budget build like this expect overages.

I wouldn't go with a Turbo 400 trans. You lose overdrive which is nice for cruising. Until you make more power, the Dana 36 will be OK so I'd run it till it breaks then change to a D44. Lets start with a new and better intake, headers and a tune. Cam if you can do the work. See how you like it then go further.

Track car only, then I'd prob focus on a getting it running tip-top and start with nitrous.

yeah I'm looking into a stroker kit I ordered LongTube Hedman headers,I would like to run straight exhaust all the way out the back no mufflers no cats but I want to race in Street class, you think that would be too loud, will I be allowed to race in that class, and will l loose too much torque without significant back pressure

I have killed many transmissions with just those mods, now I have a supercharger and that blows even the best highly modified transmissions.
The 89 has many improvements but I have gone through 2 of them too.

I have to revise my driving habits, fishing line to right big toe and left ******** seems to work fine ..
That's kinda kinky.
