Does someone have them available.Don't want to trust Haynes on this
one. They did not seem very tight upon teardown and I want it to seal
properly........Who wouldn't??? I will also be using the black rtv for the

Well, seeing as how Haynes listed different sequences corresponding to the different manifolds, I assumed they got it right. Had no problems so far.
If you number the bolts in the same manner as the spark plugs, go as follows for '85-91. I do agree, it does seem fishy do do one whole side, before tightening the other.
The '88 Corvette GM Shop Manual states for the intake base:
torque=35 ft-lbs,
snugging sequence=4,3,9,10,11,12;
tightening sequence=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12.
