Well, I got her back tonight. Just to refresh your minds, I replaced the stock front Y-pipe with a new one, sans pre-cats. Replaced Stock Cat with Hi-flow Catalytic Converter. Replaced stock rear Y-pipe with Walker rear Y-pipe with crossover bar. Replaced Custom Monza Mufflers with Flowmasters.

I am so glad I went with the Flowmasters....those pipes couldn't sing any better. However, I'm not 100% happy with the rear Y-pipe. No matter how the mechanic tried, the left muffler sticks out about a half inch more than the right muffler. I'm going to wait and see if it drives me nuts first. If it does, I'll break down and buy the Y-pipe that was meant to go with those mufflers in the first place. Standing behind the car you can't notice it; only when you look down from above.

I think I may have lost a little low end torque replacing all the pipes. However, I definitely noticed more top end power. Also...no resonance!!

I might still take some pics and see what you guys think. They'll come within a day or two.

Overall, I'm 98% satisfied :)

Yep....it drove me nuts last night while I was trying to fall asleep. Found the Flowmaster rear Y-pipe on Summit's website for $80.00 So, if anyone is looking to buy a barely used Walker Y-pipe with crossover tube, I have one for sale. I bought it brand new from Mid America for approximately $120.00. Send me an email to tredding@pa.adelphia.net for information and offers.

How is the Y-pipe going to fix it? I am thinking that the center of the y-pipe where it bolts to the Cat is skewed to one side causing the miss alignment of the Pipes..

I had the Walker Y-pipe and Flowmasters at one time and did not have that problem

Make sure the fit on the rear of the cat is true.

Glad I went to Flowmasters, got the stainless tips. They sound great. The more you drive the better they get. They should fit perfectly on to that walker Y pipe, keeps the resonance down to. :D

It is. I had him check that. I looked at it myself last night on the lift before we took it down. Everything else bolted up just fine. In fact, if you lay it next to or on top of the stock rear y-pipe, it's not the same.

Rather than fool with it anymore and have a third person tell me the same thing, I'm doing what I should have done to begin with. Maybe I just got a "bad" rear pipe. Nevertheless, I've already made arrangements to get the Flowmaster y-pipe from Summit. I've posted my walker rear y-pipe in the C4 parts for Sale section and on Ebay.

On another sad note, while he had the car up on the lift, he showed me that my rear bilstein shocks were blown. Front are ok, but should be replaced/restored at same time. Unless there is another shock to use with the selective ride system, I guess I gotta fork out more $$$ that I wasn't planning on. The hardest person I have to tell about all of this is my wife :bb Seems that by the time I get everything fixed and installed, I could have afforded a new corvette
Check into getting the adjustable shocks rebuilt. I've read many times that Bilstein will rebuild them for less than you can get new ones for. In the mean time you can put in non-adjust models and keep driving the car.

I have the Flow Master Cat Back exhaust and she sounds better each time I drive her. Just like Scorp said when you step on it it sounds like you pissed her off!! Where did you get your front Y pipe with out the pre-cats from? I really want to get rid of my pre-cats and I want a good front Y. Also what cat did you go with? I heard that the Random Tech is about the best, but I'm not sure. :yesnod:

I found a brand new front Y-pipe without pre-cats up at Carlisle. Brand new from Mid America they go for $180-$200. I paid $100 for mine ;) I purchased a Hi-flow Cat from Mid America. It's made by Carsound which, if I'm not mistaken, is Magnaflow. I too have been told that Random Tech's are good cats, but they're more expensive. I'm happy with my new setup and will be more happy when I can ditch the Walker y-pipe in favor of the Flowmaster Y-pipe. I will say that the Walker y-pipe did cut down on the resonance inside....just like they advertised.
