Default Coolant bypass question

I am going to bypass the throttle body coolant lines. Does this now mean that the IAC valve no longer is useful? Just wondering.

No differance it was just for freezing up but I would cap the ports.

IAC is still "needed" as AF2 above. GM ran the coolant. To prevent freezing. this mod. gives you a cleaner. look. Especially. traditional hoods. that is your first visual.

The IAC valve is still useful, and necessary, after you do the coolant bypass.

The IAC valve allows more/less air into the engine when the throttle plate (butterfly) is closed. Mostly its purpose is to control idle speed, especially on cold start, but I think it is used in other circumstances too.

The IAC controls air going into the TB at idle. Bypass will not impact the function of the IAC. Elimination to clean up. Don't have to drain radiator in the future if you have to remove the TB....little side benefits.

I blocked my IAC off w/o realizing it at 1st and had to adjust my TB a lot for it to idle, but then it was surprisingly fine. Still I'm putting it back.

I got THIS. Bought a hose that eliminates the pipe in the housing. Less bolts to take off ever 3 years when I clean the IAC and the Throttle body

You may know this, but get a 1995 model upper radiator hose. This makes the driver's side bypass much neater.
