Tach Filter
So I was having issues with the Tach on my 1990 not reading correctly. Then the car actually started to run very rough, to the point of dieing while driving. I went and replaced the Filter and still having the same issue. From what i have read the issue could also be the dash going bad.
But do you think the dash being bad can cause it to run rough and die??

Yea all wires and connections are good. that was the first thing i did when i had the issue with the tach.
Thats kinda what i was thinking too. Just strange that they would both happen so close to each other.

ditto on the dash cluster not causing idle issues. start with all the electrical connectors at the distributor/coil, and check the engine grounds. if necessary, run a temporary engine ground jumper. double check the condition of all ignition system components (distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, etc.). might be something as simple as a bad distributor cap. at this point, can't say the symptoms are related to the ignition system. how old is the fuel filter in that puppy? clogged or partially clogged fuel filter and low fuel pressure -??? wouldn't hurt to run a fuel pressure test.
