JUST INSTALLED AFR 195 HEADS WITH 6:1 COMP ROCKERS ON MY 91 L98 CORVETTE. FOUND A NICE SUPER RAM ON EBAY AND WITH A LOT OF EFFORT GOT IT INSTALLED. MY PROBLEM IS VALVE COVERS!
INITIALLY PURCHASED PROFORM DIE CAST TALL COVERS BUT NO WAY COULD I GET THESE BAD BOYS TO CLEAR THE RUNNERS. I'M LOST AS A BALL IN TALL WEEDS! I'VE SEEN ON FORUM WHERE SOME HAVE TAKEN DREMEL TO THE EDGE THAT HIT RUNNERS BUT REALLY WANTED TO AVOID THAT PROCEDURE. SOMEONE SUGGESTED AFR V/C BUT AT THIS POINT EVERYTHING IS A GUESS! MOST COMPANIES DON'T SUPPLY MEASUREMENT DATA SO HOPING TO PULL INFO FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN THERE! I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INPUT!

I've always been a fan of buy what you want and make it fit. The hardest part of tall covers on a c4 is clearing the wiper motor.
The early C4s had problems with the wiper motors getting in the way, later year L98 and LT1 cars didn't have clearance problems...I have 1/4" taller valve covers on my 89 with no interference...WW

I'VE SEEN ON FORUM WHERE SOME HAVE TAKEN DREMEL TO THE EDGE THAT HIT RUNNERS BUT REALLY WANTED TO AVOID THAT PROCEDURE.
I used a drum sander to put a radius relief on the edge of my covers. It was only about an 1/8" deep relief and did not reach gasket.
You will not see it, so don't sweat it.
Gentleman sometimes we fret over nothing! Purchase a pair of Proform stamped stock height
valve covers with the intent of grinding until they fit! put the drivers side cover over the head to mark areas to grind and guess what! "THEY FIT" no cutting or grinding! I did have to remove baffles !!! Thanks you for walking me through process!
