Default Distributor wiring harness

I was 'poking around' and noticed that ALL the insulation has broken off all 3 wires coming from the base of the distributor to the connector block at the top right. The coloration you see is from bare wire oxydation...not plastic 'wrapping'

Can these wires be purchased separately? didn't seen any at Rock Auto/Ebay that resembles these that did not come attached to the distributor.

I take it the (yellow wire) ummated brown connector at the connector block is for an external tach input? Not mentioned/shown in the FSM.

Amazing it runs like this...

Bought it a month ago ...refinished the interior & had it painted...just starting on the myriad of engine compartment issues.

I suggest at least cutting back the wire to a good section and splicing in new wire, you can prob find terminals from like Dorman(I know they have a Ford pack of diff types).

The best solution would be an aftermarket new harness from like Painless and replace it all to prevent any future problems. Other wise maybe a salvage harness or reproduction if they are made.

Default Part number

If anyone else has this problem...the part is called a 'Terminal Block'...GM part 1892261...crosses to NAPA part RR231...$21.00

The other end of these wires connect to the ignition module inside the distributor and has a capacitor attached.
