I have a 94 convertible LT 1. The ride is very rough and I want to improve the handling of the road surface (smooth it out). I like to hear what you all use on your C 4's. Thanks
What do you plan to do with the car? Drive it on roads? Autocross or race? Do you have FX3 or whatever they call the electronically adjusted shocks?
Do you have THIS switch? If so you have adjustable ride. Bilstein is probably the answer for it to work right. If not you can go with any other shock and the question becomes "How long do you want to keep this?". After 10 years, I had a leaking shock. Sent it and the other one back to Bilstein who said they would test them to decide what to do. Because of the time (2 hrs) to generate a shipping label and they dropped it off in the mail, I suspect they did no such thing. They sent me 2 new shocks.
I also had another time where I had crankcase vent pouring on a shock in the truck. Sent me another new one. Kinda makes me thing they aren't too picky on repairs. Lifetime warranty is kind hard to let go of.
Another good one is Tokiko which I have used. Good deals are to be had on either ebay or Amazon or eshocks.com or shox.com
I have the selective ride control, but the car has a little bounce when I press down on it. I suspect the shocks are gone. I like Bilstein and Koni. One or the other I guess.

Bilstiens you can get for around $200 apiece or less. Koni will not allow SRC to work
Scrap the Bilsteins and the FX3. I put Koni "Yellows" single adjustables on my 93 Ruby LT1 6 Speed ZO7 and I love the ride a lot better. Not bumpy and harsh. I've had them on for over 23 years.
I agree with the Koni recommendations. I have a set of Koni yellows for my car and they ride nicely. They tend to have significantly less compression damping than Bilsteins or many other brands, and this seems to help the ride comfort. I also have a set of custom-valved Bilsteins for the car, and they are really uncomfortable (but good for road courses).

Good road course or drag racing suspensions might not be optimized for all scenarios. I'm not sure how well a drag setup will work on a road course or vice versa. I suspect they keep stock shocks a compromise so it does well at nothing but dabbles in everything
