Default Throttle Position Sensor specifics

I have the task of adjusting my TPS to .54 VDC down cold. However, Since my TC unlocks whenever I lift my foot at cruising speed in either 3rd or 4th, I suspect that the TPS voltage is causing the unlock. The 1 to 2 second slip when my foot gently goes back down and the TC locks up again is really bugging me. I have a new 2600 stall converter in the car behind the "Raptor" 700R4, but as I recall, even with the old stock converter it still did this. I tried raising the TPS closed throttle voltage to .60 to see if that affected the TC unlock, and I don't think that it did. I hooked up an LED to the ALDL connection for the TCC and I could see it unlocking at closed throttle, and relocking whenever I opened the throttle again. In a round about way I guess I'm asking just what functions does the TPS voltage affect when it is read by the computer?

Default Re: Throttle Position Sensor specifics (NHVett)

The TPS gives throttle position and rate of change information to the ECM.

I suspect the ECM uses that data to control TC lockup, EGR control, speed sensor, rpm and the like.

For example on the dyno, my TC locked up in 3rd gear at WOT at about 100mph.

Possibly the EPROM could be reprogrammed to change the TC unlock conditions, but that will need to be confirmed by someone that is intimate with the EPROM functions.
