1989 stock with auto trans

Yesterday I tried to start car, and nothing happened. No cranking at all. I pulled the key and found it to be bent. I got another key and it started right up. What I don't understand, is that I disabled VATS in the ecm and burnt a new chip. I thought this was all I had to do in order disable the pass key system which is what I think they call it now. Am I missing something else I need to do?

You still have to by-pass the starter enable relay. There are several threads around with diagrams, I had one years back so I'll look for it.
