Default Slight driveability issue in the mornings

My car has been acting strange the past 3 mornings upon startup. The car will start and die immediately. When I try again once or twice, the car will run but surge for about 5 seconds. The throttle will also be slightly unresponsive. The service engine soon light will be on from the time of the surging until 165 degrees when it goes out and the car runs perfect for the rest of the day. The car sits during the day for several hours at a time and the problem doesn't come back until the next morning. As soon as the light goe out, the cars runs great as I am usually a couple of miles down the street when all becomes well. I suppose that the car is going into closed loop when the light goes out. I am getting codes 32 and 33. I am sure that the code 32 (EGR) is from the EGR vacuum port being soldered shut and I doubt this would cause the above problem if any problems at all. Code 33 (MAF)- I have a new MAF and relays (a month old). One of the relays is missing the rubber boot (still looking for one). The computer is about a month old. Any ideas? Thanks. :smash:

Look around the MAF that you just installed and see if you may have air going AROUND it instead of THROUGHT it......... maybe a leak or one of those clips may have come loose?.......... also how about the condition of the hose that runs to the throttle body from the MAF ...... I had one come apart once :seeya

No leaks there, any other ideas? It seems to be computer or electrical related due to the fact that the car runs perfectly after the service engine soon light goes out. I would think that something with the open loop mode is amiss, but it only happens after the first start of the day.
