High idle
Driving the car tonight and went to pass a car so I had to step on it. Once I let off the gas the idle will not go down. I put it in park and its idling at 3 grand. While in gear it's idling at 2 grand. Anyone know why? How can I fix this?
Thanks.

Thanks.

Might have a big vacuum leak or a bum coolant temp sensor. Make sure the cruise control servo isn't hanging it up.

Ok I'll look into that as well. All I did was get on it as I was passing a car and now it seems stuck.

Open the hood and hand work the throttle and see might just be the cable flipped off.

Mine got hung up on the clamp that holds the flexible air coupling to the throttle body. I put the screw on the opposite side and problem solved.

Popped the hood and pulled the cable a bit and it was fine again. Must have got caught last night when I got in it.

I'd take a closer look, you don't want a runaway. You don't want to treat this like a toilet that's always running & you just jiggle the handle to fix it.

Good point. The cable always seems a bit sticky when I get on it. I plan on taking it apart and cleaning. Bought some throttle body cleaner today and will do that as well.
Also doing the intake this winter so I'll have it all apart then.
