not sure what to make of this, Had to take the kid to school today since he missed his bus, on the way back the dash started acting up, RPM indicator sometimes operating backwards ie indicating 4500rpm at idle, Oil pressure running between 1 and 58 psi, engine running very rough, Speed indicator working correct, and voltage (indicated) started dropping, by the time i got back to the office it was indicating 12.0 v, but would occasionally climb to 12.6 (indicated) when actual engine rpm was up. engine developed a distinct miss at higher RPM's, and was very rough at idle.

Now since i have been having a running battle with my start up idle, and this seems to lead most everyone to the MAF ( have checked for Vac. leaks, have done a full tuneup 3 months ago ( less the coil), New IAC, and MAF relays), Have run the diag's for the cold start circuit per the helms manual and it tests ok.
Now since the MAF relies on a proper referance voltage, are these conditions all indicators of a failing/failed ALT. or battery or both? or possibly a failing ECM?

BTW the dash has NEVER indicated any voltage above 13.6(since i bought it anyway), and the Battery voltage (indicated) shows 11.6 ign on, engine off ( and have seen it lower than that a few times).

Engine has so far continued to start fine.
