My 84 will not fire. It will spin until the battery dies, but will not fire. I am not getting any voltage to the distributor.
Before this started, I had to change the oil sending unit due to a fairly bad leak. While doing that I replaced the upper and lower intake gaskets. I have traced and retraced all electrical to make sure nothing was skipped over when re-assembling.
Is is there anywhere I may have screwed up that is causing this?
Are you testing for this voltage at the pink wire that plugs into the connector on the side of the distributor? There should be 12 v. at this pink wire when the ignition is on. Cranking the engine is not necessary for this test.
Do the instrument cluster lights come on when you turn on the ignition switch?
My cluster does not work, I have a new one but am wanting to get it running before installing due to weatherstripping leaking and needing to drive it to get it replaced.
I I do not get any voltage at the pink wire with the ignition turned on.

No cluster action, and no power at the dist. makes me wonder about the ignition switch or wiring. With ign. on, do you have power at these fuses:
1. TURN/BU (15A)
2. CRUISE (3A)
3. GAUGES (10A)
4. LCD (5A)
5. ECM IGN (3A)
6. INJ 1 (3A)
7. INJ 2 (3A)
