I bought three tps's before I got a good one. The last two were delco's. A lot of junk out there these days.

I wonder if disconnecting the TPS and measuring resistance to both terminals with it turned full in each direction would tell you if it is good or not. It is a potentiometer and should read 0 ohms to +5V ref and 0 ohms to the +5V return with it turned all the way the other way.

I have been trying to get someone to test a good sensor in order to have an idea what ballpark to test for. I measured mine and calculated(see above), but have not seen what others have measured on a working tps.

If I make it back home tonight, I will retry with a better quality meter. I think it could very well be the cheapie meter I was using.

Kinda why I love the scanner. You see what the ECM sees.

Which scanner do you use? I was considering getting the ebl flash setup.

The multimeter was the issue. Thanks! .540 volts closed, 4.7 wot. That should take care of that issue. Thanks again. The last time I'll use a cheap multimeter at home. I leave my fluke at work. I'll have to buy another quality one to keep at home.

Auto X-ray EZ Scan but that was a long while ago. Snap On "The Brick".
