Default Hesitation

I have a 1994 LT1 6 speed, several weeks ago I developed a stumble while accelerating, felt like trash in gas, changed gas filter and ran sea foam in a full tank. Problem continued, no codes, worse when accelerating from a dead stop and shifting gears, it is intermittent while accelerating and still pulls strong. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a fuel pressure gauge, tape it to windshield facing in and observe fuel pressure during symptoms. Report back findings and search forum for fuel related hesitation.

The strategy is to eliminate the easiest stuff first. Vt

Me too. Get the engine started and spray a fine mist AROUND the wires in a dark garage and see if anything lights up. Repeat for when it is hot.

I changed the O2 sensors last weekend, got a little better. I was thinking plugs and wires next but probably need to check fuel pressure first. If it was bad Opti would it throw a code?

My 1990 had same problem. I was going to give it a full tune up when I got back from vacation. Left the car for a month, battery off covered in the garage. When I got back car wouldn't start. Fuel Gauge showed no presure. Checked relay, replaced pump and filter. She runs like new no hesitation on hard acceleration.

Ok guys, finally had a chance to check fuel pressure, turn key on it shoots to 45psi, then drops to 40psi, start it and drops to 35psi, turn it off and rises back to 40psi.

can you drive around with it taped to the window to observe any fluxuations during the hesitation symptoms. just want to rule it out fully and move on.

also, does it do it right away from cold start in the morning or only after its been warmed up (helps guide toward open\closed loop)

Haven't had a chance to work on it today.

It does it from start, hot, cold, all the time.

Perhaps so but when the demand is highest, can it deliver? If not, what other points can it not deliver? Delivery at idle is good but if it can maintain pressure all over, that is better.

I am trying to trouble shoot my rough idle also. What did your old plugs look like? I am going to follow your thread and wish you luck.

Plugs were not bad at all. I had a bad wire on the passenger side.

Check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum line and look for signs of gas.

How Long have you had this car? How many miles on the clock? Has the Opti been changed out, and if so by what Brand opti? When you had the plugs out did you run a compression check? Have you ever washed down the engine with water? Has the engine been overheated in the past? do you still have the old plugs, and did you keep them in order by cylinder removed?
