Help! changed fuel pressure regulator, now wont start
Ok, like I said, decided to change regulator cause of hard starting situation when first starting. Took the rail off car, cleaned it thouroughly and installed regulator exactly as old one came off. reinstalled all and now car wont start. Dont have a prssure guage to check it but there is no fuel at the schrader valve, even when I jump across the G terminal on the test connector to power the fp. I can squirt a lil starting fluid in and it fires right up then dies. I replaced the fuse and the relay also. I am stumped I am sure its something I did though just dont know where else to look.

Sorry to hear this. Bill. you really should borrow a FP Gauge. to confirm pressure. you did not mention what year?? We, will assume. a L98 TPI. your injectors O-rings are not properly seated?? 85 - 87 cold start injector. AKA 9th injector. is this plugged in?? At this point it's your FPR. your car started before replacing this.

Sorry for not saying, Its an 86 4+3, I did not like the looks of the orings but they didnt leak before, I will order some now, I can jump across the G on the electronic test connecter under the dash and the pump comes on. I did as the FSM said and connected a hose to the outlet side of pump and into a pint bottle, I powered G up for 15 sec as it says and it filled the bottle. So pump is working, It even half filled it first time when the relay kicked in for 2 sec.
After the hurricane clears out I am taking off plenum and taking out the regulator again to make sure the lines are clear and that I didnt hurt it on install.
