I have a 1995 C4 that has been garaged here in Florida for the last 6 months I returned a couple of days ago and found that the air conditioner would do nothing but blow hot air. I checked the pressure with a Walmart pressure gauge and it seems fine. I did find that the compressor would engage for about 2 seconds and disengage for 10 - 15 seconds than keep repeating the process, I checked the voltage going to the compressor and it is a constant 13.5 vdc. any help would be appreciated.
So the connector for clutch stays at 13.5 volts while compressor cycles on and off?
Sorry I missled you by not completing the info.
With the connector to the compressor disconnected there is a constant 13.5 volts. With it connected there is a spike of 12.5 volts to activate the clutch and compressor, and almost immediatetly it drops to 0 and the clutch disengages
It could be cycling switch you could jump it with a paper clip and see if compressor stays on and air blows cold. I'm not certain of accuracy of Walmart pressure gauge but have connected and to watch low side pressure. cooling fan should come on also.
O.K. I shorted cycling switch and compressor starting running like a champ , but still blowing warm air. Is it possible my pressure gauge is not working correctly ? and I am low on freon as antfarmer says.

Stick a can in it. It will cycle longer and longer then run full and cool one small can should do. Put it on max cool while filling with the windows open. spit in the fill valve I bet it bubbles. Easy fix without loosening freon.

Antfarmer2, you were right, sorry I doubted you.
Thanks for the info.
