Started it yesterday, wasn't able to do much other than remove the radiator hoses. All that is left to remove the opti is to get the harmonic balancer off.

Got it out a little while ago. Cap and rotor do have carbon on them, but not much. Only thing I did find was the wheel with slots. If you see, in one pic it rubs against the sensor.
I thought I read that some optis were the wrong size (maybe pre vent or post vent) and the Waterpump or some other thing in front of the opti applied just enough pressure to the opti case to make it not function correctly. Hope you get yours worked out.
When you guys say to RTV the opti, what exactly do you guys mean? Like, where do I put the RTV? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I did not see much, if any oil on my timing cover. So I guess it's safe for me to replace any gaskets near there?

The original optis will have differant spline and can not be swaped with out major work.

It has a seal the needs to be replaced on the engine cover cheap and easy, The ATV is sealant that you will put on the cap to seal better be sure to locktight the cap and the rotor when sealing.
E Bay guy at The Parts Place shows 9 left sold 5 came from nos at dealer non vented 92-94
I call bull **** they would have to have the Mitsubishi sensor ask for a pic and a guarantee. They have been hard to come by for years and he has that many .:thu mbs:
I was about to install the optispark this morning. But I noticed that on my new one, the bearing comes out easy. Just pull on it, and it comes out. My old one doesn't do that. What are you guys thoughts on this?
I'm about to see how she runs for a few seconds. I know to connect all sensors. Also know the water pump doesn't have to be on, just the sensor. Do I need to connect all the hoses? Or just connect all sensors, and see what she do?
