AIT sensor plug location and Wideband O2 routing.
I have my newly rebuilt engine and transmission installed. Very close to starting it up. I seem to have lost the plug and wires for the AIT sensor. I know the original location was under the rear part of the plenum but it's like that plug has disappeared. If anyone can take a picture that shows their plug and where the wires lead to that would help me find mine.
Next I'm installing a wideband O2 sensor on the passenger header. Where would you recommended making a proper entry into the cabin? I don't want to go drilling holes into the firewall just anywhere. It looks like I will probably have to buy a pod to mount the guage on the pillar.

L98 - SD - MAT (I'm guessing that's what you mean) should be in the same wire conduit I'd think as the EST. Check the wire bundle from the ECM across towards rear of engine. The image is a little deceptive in that I believe it's actually maybe more orientated towards the center near/under the distributor on a production engine.
Like this I'd think:

There's actually a "jumper" I believe from maybe that weather-pack to the MAT. What wire colors?

Perhaps since I seemed to ID what you're looking for maybe an L98 guy can post more correctly. I've never owned an L98 or LT1 Corvette. The connector location might have changed for the year involved because of ECM location, an '89 or earlier would be different I'd think but all I believe used the "jumper". You would have no trouble doing your own with 2 local connector shells, terminals and correct seals.

there is two types AIT's one is the open type and the other is the same part number as the coolant sensor, they both use different connectors. so you may want to check witch one you have.

Yes L98 MAT and ECT/CTS are the same. I'd expect TAN & BLK/PNK at the connector.

there normally is a pig tail that goes from the mat to a connector just behind the distributor. I cannot remember what it looks like. if I have time I will look at it tomorrow.
