Default Targa top issue **SERIOUS ISSUE**

I get one issue resolved and another pops up. While I was on the highway the other day doing about 75mph I hearair rushing into the interior. I look up and I see a gap in the Targa top. I pulled over and attempted to tighten it and it was tight as in not loose at all. I continue driving and it happens again. Upon further inspection,I realize that the glass is becoming separated from the frame. This is the first time I have ever experienced something like this in 28 years of driving.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? Is it a common issue? Is it fixable? Should I get some silicone and attempt a repair or look for a new top?

Unfortunately, loose tops aren't that uncommon for our C4's. Don't ignore the problem! The FRC (Flying Roof Club) already has too many members! Here's a link to my repair procedure, which is holding up just fine, after about 8 years!

Good Luck!

You said glass is separated...

Windshield did you mean? Or t-top "glass"

When you say the fiberglass top is separating from the frame, are you referring to the frame as the part that bolts on to the brackets? The reason I am asking is that the think metal strip that is on the front and side edges of my fiberglass top keeps coming loose. So far, I have used a rubber mallet to put it back in place so I wondered if this might be leading to the problem that you are having. Been trying to figure out a more permanent solution but not sure what kind of adhesive or other idea might work?
