I just got a smooth coupler from Mid America Corvette. Actually I ordered it from Eckler's but it was shipped from Mid America. I noticed it doesn't have a hole for the air temperature sensor on the right side near the throttle body. I never felt the need to read instructions prior to making my order. Hose clamps seem pretty easy as long as you have a flat head screw driver or 8mm wrench. The instructions say drill a hole to fit the sensor. The hole size here is critical to prevent any vacuum leak. Has anyone done this install? My factory coupler split where it attaches to the throttle body.

There is no vacuum on the smooth coupler; it vents to atmosphere, and you have no MAF in your intake. The hole size should be a reasonable fit...but there is no "pull" there to create a leak.

I want to add that the coupler is longer than the stock part. It has to be trimmed on the end that connects to the throttle body. In my case anyway the air filter box won't screw into the radiator shroud.
