I've got a question I'm sure at least one of you knows right off the top of your head, or maybe not.
I'm transplanting a LT1 complete with fuel injection and computer with full wiring harness into a 1962 chevy truck. I have run fused power to every place in the wiring harness that i can figure received power when installed originally, and I have grounded everything i could find to ground. I ran the fuel pump and fan signal wires to relays that are grounded and fused separately. One big question is that I ran the original 1962 ignition wire directly to the starter solenoid instead of the one from the lt1 wiring harness - the motor turns over fine (still finishing fuel system) but im curious if the computer comes "online" when switchable power is applied to all the fused inputs, or does it only wake up when something tells it the car starts? should i have connected the LT1 starter wire to the solenoid as well?
Another is the relays - I keyed the ignition to the ready position last night to see if the relays would kick on to power the fuel pump and they did not. I then took the relay signal wire out of the lt1 harness and touched it directly to the battery positive side. The relay clicked every time I did it, but the "hot" output did not get 12 volts to turn on the accessory. These were the $5 relays from oreillys (30 amp). I'm thinking ive just done something wrong in the wiring or did I get garbage relays?
I've worked on it for a few months now and im pretty happy with my wiring (every connection soldered and heat shrunk insulated). I've made new points for all my grounds drilled directly in the frame.
This project has taken FAR too long and I'm ready to be done with it.
I would appreciate all the help i can get on this one. Thank you.
Did you address the Fuel Enable requirement of the '92 ECM?
It's pretty difficult with just a "quick read" to actually say where your issue is BUT if you followed a specific LT1 transplant from a build thread somewhere on the Internet maybe post a link.
Is/are any of the harness(s) a pre-fabricated component from say a vendor like Painless?
fuel enable? I'm pretty sure i did but ill check it. can you link to a good lt1 transplant page? ive not seen a easy harness for this truck, but ive already wired it as far as i know how.

the ECM is a '94 on a side note.
I don't know where I came up with the '92 ECM ... '92 and '62 who knows! So you've actually got a '94 PCM I guess. Not maybe relevant but is this actually from a Corvette or B-body GM or F-body GM? If the PCM is an OE maybe post the number from the PCM label. I'm guessing you've one or more braided straps from the engine to the frame also, it cranks so you must.
it IS an f body pcm - i assumed theyd be really similar. i dont really want to join ANOTHER board to figure it out. lol i dont see any numbers on ecm but its grey
I've PM'd you a couple questions. I've read and reread some of your original post. I don't believe 'fuel enable' is going to be an issue for you. Not that it's relevant but what transmission are you using in this?
Got it running and after letting it clear its "throat", no smoke. Ive kind of got it rigged with a wire to pull the throttle as i dont have the right throttle cable yet and I have yet to clean up my wiring a bit. Its basically got shorty headers on it, but more of a mangled version (manifolds with an 8 inch pipe welded to them so the exhaust guy can weld it as there wasnt room where the manifolds ended).
oh yes, i was a bit happy at the end with my evil laugh.
