Has anyone ever actually dyno'd the difference made with throttle body changes(going from 48 to 52 or 52 to 58 or 48 to 58 etc.) and not changing anything else? If so, what were the results? TIA.
One guy with an LT4 changed his and gained a little. Most everyone else lost throttle response, I think Nathan showed no gain at all. And some people lost a couple hp.
a bigger TB isnt necessary until you go with bigger cubes
I went from the stock 48 to a 52 mm. The car had a cam and headers, it made 336 horsepower one dynojoet. I put the 52mm on there and made 332 horsepower on another dynojet. You could say it hurt performance, but I don't think so. You can see as much as a 4 hp variation between runs on the same dyno, so different dyno's I can't consider 4 hp to be anything significant.
I honestly don't believe it hurt me at all. I also don't believe it helped me at all. I've got the dyno graphs if you would like to take a look.
