87 Trouble Code 42 ECT
this code 42 came up on my 87 last Friday. I was wondering if anyone else had this code and what fixed it. Back some months ago my PCM went bad and I replaced it and the Chip with a Delco Reman Computer. Today I installed a new Module in the disturbuter and that didn't fix it. The car run and I still drive it sometimes the light won't come on mut 90% of the time it comes on. The distributer connector looked ok (white EST wire) and I checked it at the PCM that checked out ok. Any input would be helpful thanks everyone.

Right off the shelf all it says to do is check wiring at ign. mod. r&r ign. mod. or possible ecm failure. Remans have been known to go south on short notice. Good luck 84 CF 91 ZR-1

You will get that code after checking the timing if you check it properly because you have to unplug the "set timing connector"........ that sets a code that should be cleared but if you don't it will be ok and clear on it's own after 40 drive cycles :seeya
