Default Have my cert, need a reputable source for r12

i want to recharge my 1993. Don't want to do a conversion, just feel like I need to top off my r12.

I need a reputable source and the hose/gauge to do the fill.

Many suggestions?

When did GM move to 134a? My 94 uses 134a and its factory installed.

Default Find the leak first

Have you found and repaired the leak? If not you will be shortening the lifespan of your compressor by simply charging it up.

If the fittings are original, any standard 1/4" charging hose will fit. I think I might have a really old can of the stuff laying around somewhere.

My experience has been that thieves were marketing R22 as R12 in the South Bay area of SoCal about 10 years ago. R22 is about 30lbs higher at room temperature. Was pretty easy to verify.
this is what I want to avoid. I just want a reputable source of actual R12 (not a substitute nor a conversion).

Someone here must must have dealt with this before and had a favorable transaction with a vendor or source. I'm not looking to hunt on eBay if someone here has a better source.

I would only buy from a sealed can or virgin drum with a check valve. Maybe recycled from a reputable recyclers. If you live near a large metropolitan area there will be one around.

It's still out there. I've got about a thousand pounds of it sitting down in a cargo hold; Try an industrial gas supplier.
