Default 1989 Corvette Remote Start Wiring

I am currently wiring a remote start in my 89' Corvette, besides the mess of wires and laying upside down for long periods of time I'm having another problem. I am now wiring the last few necessary large gauge wires, I need to splice into the ignition switch wire and I know that I am looking for a pink wire on the ignition harness.

So heres the problem: There are two pink wires running from the ignition one is light and one is darker which one do I use? Thanks.

PINK is PINK and maybe what you interpret as "darker" is maybe just FADED RED. Without having the wiring schematic for your remote start it's maybe difficult to help. Do you have the FSM for your car to use the wiring diagram to sort your issue?

You really need a remote start? Installs on older autos can create many issues. Time of year hints maybe a "GIFT" that regardless of who was the gifter might be better returned for an exchange(if it actually still could be).'89 I'd think could be a challenge.

If your install schematic is available as a "LINK" from he vendor post that link or maybe mention brand and part # of package.

I believe there would be 2 that should be RED at the ignition switch, 1 in each connector. Do you have a BLUE and BLACK connector at the switch? PINK I'd expect only at C on C2(5 terminal BLUE) maybe. Does your install instructions cover a YELLOW at the ignition switch? Early cars I thought were YELLOW switch to START ENABLE RELAY.

"IHBD" seems to be quite familiar so maybe if he's done earlier installs where THEFT etc were different modules he could be a definite help.

***IHBD - I HATE BARKING DOGS also and I've a neighbor with a PAIR!!! Barking ain't quite as bad as just "YAPPERS", large dogs when treated well have a reason to bark. The neighbors I'd say are just "YAPPERS". My large dogs when they barked, there was a "reason". A great alarm - barking dog!

----------------------------------------------------

OP - I see where "IHBD" answered an inquiry by you earlier in the month so I'd think you should be all set. Another observation, you seem to post everything in both of the C4 sub-forums. A post in one or the other generally catches all users. A post to your original from earlier in the month might have done well for you but then you need to decide which. You've 4 posts regarding "remote start".

Thanks so much for the help guys. I'm gonna jump back into it this afternoon and hopefully will have good news once I'm done. Thanks again.
