Well, every day my Vette seems to be a little less "daily driver" worthy.
1. Dash going out
2. High milage
3. Needs tires
4. Water leaking when it rains!!!
After i first found my floor boards all wet, i had my woman spray it with the hose while i was inside. I found the leak, siliconed it, and no more problems. LAter on, it came back, put more silicone, looks fixed. I get in after that big rain last night (no garage) an inch of water on both sides!!! After all that work!! :cuss It will not leak while im driving, or when i spray it, but i can wake up in the morning and it has leaked all night. WTF. Can someone please give some more suggestions on this crap? I am about fed up. I cant wait to find another daily driver so i can keep the Vette as a project car. Thanks again for the help!!!

Have you drilled drains in the hood latch areas?......... is the body cracking at the rear quarter panels? (the corner where the wondow seal goes from horisontal to vertical)........ some people put drains in THERE but I wouldn't reccomend that because that STARTS them cracking......... what about the plenum area below the windsheild?........... fill it with water and see....... is the top leaking?.............. how about the door drains?....... it would be hard for that to happen but it's possible but only after the door is so full of water it would be heavy   ...... don't give up on it...... oh and as for the tires.......you did that to yourself as we can see from your sig  :seeya

pull all your carpets & matting up - so you can see the fire wall - than start the hose running water on the top of your car - I found my leak coming in the AC housing - after hours of siliconing the spots I thought were lealing on the cowlling(under wipers) - the water was running down the corners then behind some things and along the AC housing into the car - other option is your weather stripping (my next project - its not bad yet) - I know it sucks having the indoor pool in your car. good luck

Welcome to the Club. My dash blinks out occationally, even though all bulbs have been replaced. Probably a short. Won't mess w/it till it goes out for good. Older Vettes Leak. That one is just the way it goes. I thought about buying new moldings, but not for what they cost. I will live w/a little wetness. As far as tires, that is reg. maintainence and high milage gives it character. My engine is still strong w/126k on it.
Alright. Upon further inspection, it seems that it is a combination of windshield and weather stripping leaks. When you spray the hose really hard on the top where it meets the foam, it comes in alot. Can i just change that part or do i have to buy the whole kit? I think i will try spreading some silicone on it, let it dry, then put the top back on. It might make a better seal. Another thing, how do you get the windshield trim off?

Is this a Concours restoration, or will you accept "shade-tree" fixes???
You will???
Alrighty then! :D
Go to KMart, or Valu, or Home Depot or Ace and get a can of "minimal expanding foam sealant" and insert the hose in the area you want to seal, and give it a shot...Wipe off the excess when it starts boiling out...
The stuff I have here is called "Great Stuff", but there's lots of it around...Contractors use it to seal holes they drill through your walls...
I used it to "cure" a six inch hole in a station wagon door one Winter...Brrrr, it got cold in that car!...
