thus far i have verified that the fuse, fan motor and relay are OK.
i do not have 12v at the relay on the blue wire which is supposed to come from the fuse block.
my question is how is the blue wire routed from the fuse block to the relay?
diagram shows pin 6e of C115 as to where it goes thru the firewall. how do i identify the pin numbers - and once the Pattern is identified is it as viewed from the passenger side or engine side?
The ignition key must be in RUN to have power on the blu wire from the C.FAN FUSE. That wire also runs to the starter and the charging system, on an '88 Vette.
The blu wire junction, C100, is located at LH front of dash to the left of the brake master cylinder, again on an '88 Vette.
Year is critical. Had a problem with my 90. THOUGHT I checked all the fuses. Turns out it's one on the fuse block that doesn't even seem related to the fans that was blown. That fixed the problem.
If your car is a 92 I can help you out as I just fixed my system today. BTW, my fans would not run unless the car was running. Just turning on the ignition and the A/C wasn't good enough.
Oh almost forgot to mention. With the ignition on and engine off I could read 12v at the coil part of the relay. But there was not enough amperage to trigger the relay. This is normal I guess, but confused me for a minute.
i've just gotten back from the islands (the lake erie island) for one of the last weekends of the summer here in northern ohio so i've been off line for a couple days.
sorry i forgot to mention mine is an '84.
all data in first post is accurate, do not have the 12v on the blue wire with the key on, the fuse is OK and there is 12 volts at the red wire.
thus far it seems to be losing it between the fuse block and relay. per the diagram it goes thru the bulkhead thru connector c115 location pin 6e.
other thaught is - is there an "accessory power relay" of some type that feeds the power to the fuse block? the reason i ask this is that power to the radio has been erratic lately also!
