Default Scorp- Clarification Needed

Just took a look at the vacuum diagram you posted for me. There's one difference between the diagram I found and yours. The diagram I had didn't show the connection from the throttle body fitting to the tank pressure control valve and vacuum canister, but just showed the tb connected directly to the egr solenoid.
I trust your diagram a lot more than the one I found, which was generic for L98's and looked like it was drawn in Paint.
2 questions, is there anything inline between the throttle body fitting and the tank pressure control valve and vacuum canister besides a t-fitting that goes to the egr sol? It looks almost like there's something, maybe a vacuum regulator.
Out of curiousity, how does the egr solenoid work and what does it do?

Thank you

Chris

No there is nothing inline. I looked at the diagram in the 86 shop manual and could not find anything. I also looked at my 86 to verify it.

The EGR works in that a valve opens allowing a small amount of exhaust gas back in to the intake manifold to control formation of NOx.

What exactly are you trying to solve?

I went back and looked at your other thread. I think that it is possible to have a manifold vacuum leak. But something tells me that perhpas you might first check the IAC and even try replacing the MAF relays. The relays are behind the battery and have contributed to similar problems like yours.

Thank you for the help. Where in the shop manual did you find the vacuum diagram? I couldn't find it in my GM manual. It was given to me by a friend who's dad used to own a Chevy dealership, so it may be missing few pages.
Check out my other post under the title "86 won't idle." I'm coming to the end of a long string of problems that materialized fairly close together.

If you have a 1986 GM shop manual, go to Fig. 1B-3 and 1B-10. It is in the front of the book under Air Conditioning. My scanner is not working right now or I'd send you the diagrams.

BTW, I just looked at it again and noticed that there is a check valve. Is yours still there?

If you need more assistance, you can email me at sharkhol@guam.net. I can also take digital pics of portions of my vette if you need more detailed routing.

I haven't been able to get out to my car, but the diagrams are in my book. Are there any other diagrams in there for the vacuum lines, possibly for the tank pressure valve and the lines coming off the t/b?
You help is much appreciated, if I haven't said it already.
