Default Question on shifter bezel

I'm looking to redo the rubber coating that's on my 96 lt4 6speed CE. It is peeling in some spots, I was going to strip it down to bare plastic but am unsure of how to make it match the rest of the rubberized interior pieces... has anyone done this before or know of a product that looks like the factory runber.
If I can't get a true match I will redo all the pieces but still want the new coating to look similar to oem..

Thanks

I used plasti-dip spray, some on the forum talked of it and it looks very good!

Do you have any before/after pics. How Did You strip The original stuff?
I used plasti dip a long time ago to water proof some electronics on nitro R/C cars but that was the kind you just dip something into. I never used the sprayable stuff. Is it true you can just peel it off if you don't like it?

Yes and no.

I did my C5 console with it after I modded my bezel for a double din stereo.

I did several light coats. Really light coats. I tried to get it to copy the texture that was originally on the car, and it did a pretty good job with that. Then it got dusty and I would literally have to take the console out and soak it in water to get it clean again.

I went to mod it again, and I could not peel it off. I had to use acetone and a rag to get it off.
If I had done a really thick coat, it might have peeled off.

It only wore out where my knee was always resting on the side of the console. Nothing else ever wore out.

On my 90, I went ahead and swapped the interior parts to the 93 model since I hated the silver paint. I have no idea how I would replicate that rubber finish on it. I thought if you could slightly thin the plasti dip, it might go on smooth enough... Thinning it and dipping it in my mind seems like the way to go. good luck with that. Maybe rolling it on like the 50 dollar paint job type thing with it really thinned out so it self levels. Done that before.

I have been thinking if I were to do the 90, I would probably paint it, like I am going to do on the C5. I could not stand cleaning it.

Maybe when the rain stops I can try and thin some out and coat something.
