Default Replacement Socks Question

I am after some new shock for my 88, while my current dampers are in good working order I am after some with different valving that will eliminate or reduce the ‘wheel chatter’ over high frequency bumps without going too soft. Reconditions anyone?

I buy most of my socks at Sears...Nice thick ones; not like those sissy opera socks that look like ladies bootie socks...

White with two blue stripes... :D

If you are getting wheel chatter, your shocks are gone, your socks are OK :D

I use Billstein Z51 shocks on my 88. It's not a Z51 but the shocks work great. They only last me about 25000 on the rear

I've got Bilstiens at the corners also. $279 for all four from MAD I do believe. Easy enough to install I have the Z52 suspension package on my '88 and I believe the Z51 and Z52 shocks are the same..........but don't quote me on that.

Thanks guys. The car is already fitted with Bilsteins that may well be on their way out, but they seem ok in most other situations and respond well to bump testing, and I supposed fitting them will not make the chatter worse. However I would be good to get some feedback on other brands, like Koni or KYB who also make good suspension components.
