Well, I took the cover off of the plastic piece to try and fix it (the cover was pulling away on the passenger side where it hinges). While I was doing this, I managed to break off a couple of the screw receivers (guess that's what you'd call them) . Anyway, was wondering if anyone knows of an easy fix...I really don't want to have to replace the whole piece if I can avoid it.

Re: That darn center console lid (mullinrdriver)
 I think you have an OOPS!!! :cry
I took mine apart recently to install the cushion and I don't recall if you can drill some new holes in the base plastic and use some self tapers to get into the lid cover, sorry
Off hand' I'd say you need to contact a salvager and see what they have. The MAD console cushion works really great to add height to the lid for your elbow and to solve the problem of the sides pulling away
I know what you're suffering through. I went the same path with my lid until I accidently left it open one evening.....the reason is a whole nother story. Anyhow, the little light melted the fixture and hot molten plastic dripped down inside the cover ruining the entire thing from any further repair. I had used some of that two part stick type epoxy to mold new screw receivers / mounts and had some success until the melt down. Eventually, I just swallowed hard and called Jeff Kopp @ Superior Chevy....the new GM door / lid cost something like $135 and looks terrific. No more black streaks on my saddle leather passenger seat and it even locks correctly. There's just no substitute for replacement parts.
