What a PITA! Now my entire ignition system has been upgraded. Today I did the plugs and new MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires. This job was as big a pain as everyone here said it would be. Here's a tip. Taking the belt off and turning the tensioner out of the way was a big help!! Started at 10, and finished at 5, with an hour & a half lunch break! I feel no difference in performance, but happy with the whole ignition system being new! :D
Congrats! This was one of my first ugrades (?) on my car and it took me a full day as well - PITA almost is an understatement. There isn't a quick way to do this, it just takes patience and persistence. I was really bummed that it took so much effort and didn't really produce any noticable gain.....the only up side is that it's done and now I can quit worrying about doing it again for awhile.
I just purchased a new opti and water pump.....my next big (no gain) piece of maintenance. Some day I'm going to get all caught up on these kind of fixes and start adding horse power?!!
Did mine last week. Was a pain but i found original wires( i bought the 92 6 weeks ago) one was almost complety severed and the tip on one wires had a fried tip. I did notice the diffrence.
