Anyone ever change the fuel pump in thier C4? How much of a PITA is it and do I need any special tools or info?
Need to do this today..
Thanks :seeya :flag
Its very simple open the gas lid take off the cover and another cover and everything comes out up is not hard is better to buy ac delco whole assymbly i think
Really easy to do. Depressurize the fuel system, remove fuel pump fuse, pop the rear fill door off (4 torx boltsa), remove 3 hoses, remove 12 10mm bolts, pull up assembly, pop out pump, pop in new pump, reverse.
I was looking at the fuse block. Says in the Hayes manual that it's a 5 amp fues located about 3 rows down from the top and about 2 spaces to the right. It's not there. The only 5 amp I see is "inj".
Any idea which fuse handles the fuel pump?
I just changed mine a couple of weeks ago. I now have yet another reason to love C4's. I've never changed a fuel pump before, but this was pretty easy. I didn't pull a fuse, I unplugged the fuel pump relay on the firewall. I replaced the relay also while I was at it.
Well...got it out and disconnected. Pretty simple as stated. Thanks. Unfortunately, the parts house sold me a Borg Warner fuel sock instead of a Delco. Darned thing won't fit.
Hopefully I'll get the correct part tomorrow and have this thing buttoned up by tomorrow night. Putting on a new filter while I'm at it.
Hope this is the problem, but regardless, it needed it!
knowing that a 91 is still a C4, but, does the fuel pump get changed out the same way? I think my friends took a dump too. The shop book said to drop the tank.
