The other night I was just criusing the streets in my vette and a song I loved came on the radio. I turned it up pretty loud and continued to listen to it at that level. But, when I got home and shut the car off, there was like a high pitched squeal or whistle coming from the rear driver side speaker. Is this an indication of something I need to get fixed? :seeya

Well, unless you like the sound...personally, I'd fix it...actually I did.
It sounds like the capacitors have taken a holiday in your Bose amp(s). You'll need to either send it off and have it fixed or fix it yourself for less than $10. There's about a half dozen electrolytic capacitors that you replace... the hardest thing is scraping the glue off of the board to get to them
You said that after you turned off the car, you got the squealing noise? You will probably need to check the relay, not the amps. If it squeals while the radio is playing, it is more than likely the amps. You can try to fix them yourself (see tech tips), send them to Bose ( was $65.00 per amp), or maybe Dr. Don. I just got my cd/cassette player back from him. AWESOME. I had already replaced the amps. :chevy
