Default Fuse Holders

Can someone tell me what the wires are for. There are four red heavy gauge wires, two of which appear to have one side of a fuse holder.

First, it always helps to include the year of the car!! From the pic, I would say that those pieces are aftermarket items; certainly not stock. It looks like the wires may be connected to the positive battery cable and covered with black electrical tape and secured with a white wire tie.

Do you know if the car had an aftermarket security system? Or an aftermarket audio system?

OP - I believe you've got an '88 and haven't posted back to your questions regarding wheel studs/nuts. Did you ever finish that?

An '88 had some unusual Fusible Links in the battery vicinity I believe. It's very difficult to sort through the snapshot but maybe they've all been "tinkered" with and the Weather-Pack connections maybe subbed with other-than on a battery cable replacement. D & E went to cooling fan relays and H to FPR, MAF and OPS I believe.

Do you have the FSM for this car?

I have the FSM and thought those might be for the fusible links also but it appears they are coming out of the factory harness. I will have to dig a little further.

WVZR-1 - I am waiting on the new lugs I ordered to come in. I thought i had posted that i believe the ones I got from NAPA were standard lugs without the bulge. I ordered ones with the bulge.

You should see if those are hot. It looks like they probably are and should be cleaned-up before something bad happens.

The two that look like they have fuse holders are hot but are pretty well protected by the fuse holders. The other two are not hot. That was one of the first things I did when I saw them.
