There's several variations, straight blade, curved blade, '89 and earlier single rear of radiator some with an AUX in front of the AC Condenser "pushing", all '90 and later are a pair of rear of the radiator with variations as to single speed and later dual speeds. There's no such thing as a "standard" - or at least that's my thoughts!

If there's a specific one that interests you you'll need to mention the year, primary or AUX etc.

DeWitts I believe has claimed the early to be 1700 CFM or thereabouts - I've never seen a GM "advertised" specification.

I have seen both 1700 and 1400cfm listed as the air flow of the MAIN fan for L98's (which it appears you have from your profile). BTW...It's always helpful to specify what year you are asking about -- if it's something that changed over time.

In the middle of last year, I posted most of what I'd found on the subject of L98 fans, sizes, and their potential replacements/upgrades in this thread.

Without going back and reading it, I'm fairly sure I posted that it would be nearly impossible to upgrade to the newer, dual-fan configuration that's on the LTx engines. I'm sure they'd have a higher CFM...probably in the 2-2.5k cfm range. But, that's a WAG (unless I'd found it and posted it in the thread linked above).

I also started a thread more geared to the electrical considerations of upgrading L98 fans. It's located here.

Hopefully this is helpful information if you are looking to upgrade. Normally, that would be the biggest reason to ask about current performance -- in order to compare to upgrade options.

..... The Ford 2 speed fan was used in a wide variety of Ford vehicles ... You need to head on down to your local pick-n-pull junk yard and look around ... take your tape measure with you ... I found one in a Town Car that would only need some minor surgery on the shroud to work on an early C4 ... and don't get caught up in all the "woe is wiring" comments ... I have used a 40 amp Hella relay for years to run this with ne'er a crispy wire ... the low speed pulls more CFM than the stock C4 and almost twice the CFM on high speed .....

I use a taurus fan grafted to my early c4 shroud. Works great with a a DCC variable speed controller.

I've never seen on a C4 BUT I have seen on a C3 and on many other street-rod productions. I believe the last one I saw actually used the wiring from this 9 year old thread. I believe if a person is seriously interested you do your own fabrication. Not everyone is thrilled with a "just works" install, I've a friend that if it doesn't look professionally done regardless of what's claimed for performance it won't get done.

This thread had comments regarding efficiency and the various wiring presentations is why I remember this. See post #8

A GOOGLE SEARCH - "wiring a Taurus 2 speed fan" gets a zillion responses.

This is an interesting read:
