So after about an hour or 2 of driving around my car likes to just die out of nowhere at red lights. After it dies, it just barely starts, to get it to start u need to crank it over and put the gas to the floor and rev it up. Then the car is fine for the rest of the day, My car has a code 43 which is the knock sensor, but the knock sensor doesent seem like it would cause this problem, I replaced the coil today and it still did,the temps fine on the vette so its not overheating or anything, I would like to solve this problem as it gets very annoying when my 93 vettes my daily driver right now
Actually the knock sensor could be causing your trouble.
A friend of mine has a 95 Z-28, he was following me one day when his car just died for no apparent reason. It would start back if you gave it enough gas but only breifly. It wouldn't run unless you kept your foot on the gas. In his case it wasn't making the best of noises either. It finally spun about 5 bearings in a highly audible terrible screeching sound. In his case the computer was picking up rod knock thinking it was spark knock. It eventually just retarded the timing to the point that it wouldn't run anymore.
So if your computer is reading false knock then it could very well be related. May not be the problem at all, but it could be. The knock sensor should be cheap enough, it wouldn't hurt to investigate it a little bit.
You might find that the wiring harness is just disconnected or damaged. I hate to recommend that you just start throwing parts at it. Even on cheap parts that can get expensive pretty fast.
